Snow Fall Reaction

http://www.nytimes.com/projects/2012/snow-fall/#/?part=tunnel-creekI like the details in the story. I liked how the story made me feel like I was there and apart of it. With each part was a beautiful flowing header image that connected to that part of the story.

The comparison between that avalanche and the one from 1910 really puts it into perspective for those who have never gone though anything that brutal.  These people who when skiing were risking their lives because of the conditions of the mountains.

There were 16 people that played a part in this event. The avalanche made it seem like no matter how much you prepare for the worst to have, you never actually are. Being able to bounce back or figure out a solution you never thought would happen seemed to be the most difficult challenge.

They still tried to enjoy the experience no matter how terrified they were of  a potential avalanche. I think they knew that part of the excitement was the rush of the skiing and snowboarding along with the fear of being eaten alive by a giant mountain snow shower.

A family left behind

The part that made me sad was the fact that Johnny had died. It was an emotional build up that left me at a loss.

Knowing that the mountains are a beautiful sight, the fact that being in them is so dangerous that it can cost you your life upset me.
