The University of Bridgeport is the most diverse university campus in all of the United States. Students come from all over the world to attend this university. The feeling I get walking through campus is that no one is ever alone. Most students come to the university and gain the full college experience, including living abroad. They are assigned a dorm room for a period of time with a roommate, someone whom they have never met and they meet someone new. Along with this, they take new courses and meet other students with the same or different major and interests and form lifetime friendships.
One of the best things about the diversity of the university is the way it keeps students together. There are numerous clubs and organizations for students to join and they have several different events each semester. This helps make each student feel like they’re apart of something unique, it’s also a way of creating great memories.
At the Student Academic Advisement Center, of the Wahlstrom Library on the 5th floor, there are comfortable chairs and couches where students gather in between classes each day and talk with the people they’ve missed over time.
Whether it’s before or after class, students even gather together in the library café, to discuss classes, homework, their day, or anything else with a group of friends.
The University of Bridgeport has a very wide campus to walk through, and at times the walk can seem daunting to on individual. Being able to walk with people and talk is one of the most comforting factors about the diversity of UB.
International students who all come from the same nation and background and live abroad have one of the strongest bonds on the campus because they’re always there for one another no matter what.
International students love to gather together outside Carlson Hall before and after lectures to talk about their day, their classes, and much more. They always display a warm sense of unity among their groups.
The student café in the hub of UB is one of the most social rooms at the school. Many students gather here for lunch and take a breather between classes to catch up and talk.
Walking from the hub café to the any academic building can seem far especially when it’s a cold day, but there’s something about having their friends around that keep the students going. Knowing that their not alone just makes it all better and worth it.
This group is one of the closest groups I’ve seen at UB. Every day at lunch they come together and discuss and play video games and it’s obvious how comfortable and at home they are which is one of the biggest goals of UB.
The best feeling is walking through campus with your friends and have a good laugh, especially when it’s been a long, tiring day of homework and note taking.
